Some of the ways we achieve our positive culture include:

  • Sharing project wins, learnings and “cheers” weekly
  • Free collaboration among team members
  • Team gatherings, lunches and quarterly celebrations
  • A biannual hackathon that encourages exploration
  • Care from founder Tim Hamilton and Managing Partner Kevin Hurwitz

We sat down with Design Lead Nick Comito, a veteran team member at Praxent, to hear from him first-hand about his experience with the culture at Praxent. Here’s what he had to say.

NICK: I’m always going to be biased, so take it with a grain of salt, but the people here [at Praxent] are amazing, and we tend to have a track record of hiring not only highly skilled people, but people that care about each other a lot – it’s why I’ve been here for so long.

I’m Nick Comito. I’m a Design Lead at Praxent.

If you started your own company today, what from Praxent would you keep?

NICK: That’s a good question. I would keep a lot – I would definitely try and keep the culture. People tend to care about each other really well here. A lot.

How does Praxent support you being successful in your role?

NICK: Not only having the space, the freedom, the time to step away, but also having the autonomy and the freedom to take care of family and when [redacted] comes up, like having to get my car fixed – rather than stressing about that all day long and having to figure out when I’m going to do that because I can’t get off work during the day, you take care of it and it’s done and you can focus on work. So yeah, that’s huge.

How does Praxent make it easy for you to lead?

NICK: I’m in a good space to be able to lead the way that I’d like to. I think we have an opportunity to do that for everybody, because we have the psychological safety, we have the ability to be authentic and true to ourselves and do things how we want.
