Praxent Launches OpenTeams

From a sea of engineering documents, interface prototypes and volumes of source-code, we are very excited to announce, OpenTeams has finally emerged. Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that we are already receiving positive feedback:

“For distributed teams that include non-programmers working on projects with a lot of moving parts it looks worth a serious evaluation.” – Web Worker Daily, “OpenTeams Offer Wikis with Structure”

Simply said, OpenTeams is a web-hosted collaboration tool that promotes entrepreneurialism in organizations plagued by restrictive protocol and red-tape. Together with OpenTeams founder, Tory Gattis and software developer, Alex Tribble, we united around a functional spec that consisted of the following words: “We want to change the way organizations work.” (See OpenTeams Selects Praxent). Today, we released an application that we believe will do just that.

OpenTeams enables multi-user teams to start, share and build ideas into refined initiatives and/or business plans. If you have a document or project to complete with another person, simply put, this application will rock your world. OpenTeams tracks all changes to documents, effectively tells you “What’s New” since your last visit and natively promotes the entrepreneurial process in any team interaction.

At its core, OpenTeams combines the reach and flexibility of popular Web 2.0 technologies such as blogging, wikis, social networking and social tagging. Its unique just-in-time interface intuitively provides users with the information they need right when they need it.

In terms of productivity, typical websites and/or Web applications are cumbersome and slow to use. With each click, the user encounters a page refresh and waits for the new page to load. OpenTeams, although it is a true Web application, redefines and elegantly transcends this experience. Leveraging the power of AJAX, we eliminated the page-refresh paradigm entirely. As a result, the interface behaves like a desktop application – snappy. Its extraordinarily responsive interface combined with the convenience and flexibility of a Web application is likely to yield a considerable boost in your team’s productivity.
